Dr. Ephraim Armstrong Awinbugri is the Director of Finance of Youth Without Borders Ghana since 2019. In 2016, he held the role of I-Empower Project Coordinator, a flagship leadership and career guidance, mentorship and coaching project that empowered students in second cycle institutions across many regions in Ghana.
Dr. Ephraim is Chartered Accountant, and a full member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana, Chartered Financial Analyst and a Certified Organisational Development Consultant with over a decade of experience consulting, teaching and researching Auditing, Accounting, and Finance. Presently, he works as a Senior Lecturer at AAMUSTED and (UEW CODeL), teaching various accounting courses including International Business, Business Finance, Advanced Financial Reporting, Auditing and Assurance and Public Sector Accounting. He is also a Managing Partner at Ambitious Consultants and Associates, a firm of Chartered Accountants and as an Adjunct Lecturer at Kessben University College, Kumasi Ghana.
Prior to his current roles, he worked as an Accountant at the Agogo Presbyterian College of Education, where he was responsible for preparing the institution’s budgets, presenting final accounts and managing ledger accounts. Earlier, he was the Director of Finance at Darko Fresh Company, a firm specialised in the production of sachet drinking water. Dr Ephraim is a serial Entrepreneur and Author. He is the CEO of Ambitious Clusters Ltd, a conglomerate comprising of accounting, manufacturing, travel and tour companies. Ephraim co-authored “Aim Financial Accounting”, a basic accounting textbook for level 100 university students at AAMUSTED and KNUST.
Ephraim holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Accounting and Finance from ICOF Global University. He also holds Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) Business Administration (Accounting Option) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Ghana and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Accounting from the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Ghana. He obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) Business Administration (Accounting Option) with First Class and Diploma in Education both from UEW Ghana. He also has Bachelor of Law (LLB) from the Presbyterian University, Ghana and a Certified Online Facilitator Certificate from the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands. He is an editor of International Journal of Research and Innovation in Social Sciences and BP International, India. His research interests include corporate governance, accounting standards, SDGs, Green Accounting and Sustainable Practices. Ephraim’s research and journal publication on IFRS adoption and earnings management in Sub-Saharan Africa won him an award at a conference in Nigeria. He also won the overall best student in Bawku Senior High School in 2008.
